The Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) is a government-owned and controlled bank that supports and promotes countryside development. It is the country's largest lending institution for small farmers, rural micro-entrepreneurs, and agrarian reform beneficiaries.
Landbank was created in 1963 under Republic Act 3844 or the Agrarian Land Reform Code to help finance land reform in the country. It operates an agricultural lending program to support farmers and ranchers. Landbank also offers a wide range of services for consumers and businesses, including savings and checking accounts, loans, credit cards, investment products, and remittances.
A credit card issued by Landbank allows you to borrow money in order to buy items or make a cash advance. If you don’t pay off your balance in full each month, you will be charged interest on the outstanding amount.
You can also use your credit card to build up your credit history and improve your credit score so that you can get car loans or housing loans in the future.
To apply for a Landbank credit card, you must meet the eligibility requirements and provide the required documents, including proof of identity and proof of income.
You can check your Landbank credit card application status by going to Landbank’s Contact Us page. Provide your name, mobile number, and e-mail address. In the dropdown menu, choose “Credit Card” as the subject type and “Application Status” as the concern type.
Alternatively, you can call the Landbank Hotline at (632) 8405-7000 or send an email at customercare@mail.landbank.com .
Currently, there’s no Landbank credit card online application on their website. The closest they come is a feedback form where you can ask questions about the credit card, but there is no way to apply for it online. This may be inconvenient for some customers, as they may not have time to go into a physical branch and apply for the card.
To activate your Landbank credit card, go to Landbank’s Contact Us page. Provide your name, mobile number, and e-mail address. In the dropdown menu, choose “Credit Card” as the subject type and “Activation Request” as the concern type. Send a message and provide details of your card.
If you have the Landbank Mobile App, you can also activate your credit card by going to “More” menu and selecting “Activate Credit Card.”
Alternatively, you can call Landbank or send an email requesting credit card activation. Just make sure you provide your Landbank credit card number and other details.
The same process applies if you want to cancel your credit card. This time, select “Card Cancellation” from the dropdown menu. Send a message requesting for the cancellation and explaining the reason for doing so. Click on the submit button.
Once you've submitted your application, it will be reviewed by Landbank’s credit department.
If you're approved, your credit card will be delivered to your mailing address in 2 to 4 weeks. This timeframe is just a general guideline and may not be applicable in all cases.
The credit limit is the maximum amount that can be charged on the card at any one time. It’s also the maximum amount that can be borrowed against a credit card via a cash advance program. Landbank sets the limit based on the cardholder’s credit score, credit history, and purchasing behavior.
The monthly effective interest rate for Landbank credit cards is 2% (APR of 24%). Landbank may charge you additional fees if you enter into certain transactions.
You have several options if you want to make a balance inquiry on your Landbank credit card:

Landbank credit card reviews are generally positive because of low interest rates, low annual fees, and wide acceptability worldwide. The enhanced security features of the credit card reduce fraudulent transactions. On the downside, Landbank credit cards don’t have as many perks as other credit cards. Although there are Loyalty and Easy Pay Programs, the card is lacking in discounts, rebates, and other enticing promos that can propel people to use the credit card regularly. But overall, it does what it’s designed to do and it’s an excellent credit card for beginners.
